Weekend Round Up

It seems with every weekend that passes, every Monday gets harder and harder.

Friday
- had a looooooong day at work
- came home exhausted, not feeling up to doing much at all
- toby was cut early from work so we headed up to Aubree's
- i had the housemade pizza rolls, amazing
- had a drink at sidetracks for happy hour with arthur, jess, toby, ben and ben's girlfriend ( i forgot her name, sorry!)
- walked home with toby and arthur
- fell asleep rather quickly

Saturday

- snuggled with toby in bed all morning, wonderful
- walked to beezy's for brunch, i had the avocado blt
- jumped in the car and headed to the cider mill
- bought apple butter, apple cider, apple donuts, and baby cooking pumpkins
- came home and enjoyed a donut and a glass of cider on the stoop barefoot
- headed to ann arbor with toby to do some walking around
- went to treasure mart, zingerman's for gelato, and various record stores and vintage shops
- realized i lost the paper that makes my id valid
-was bummed that i was missing out on a show at the elbow room because of it
- got takeout thai and watched sunshine cleaning
- had a couple of beers at home
- fell asleep way too early for a saturday

Sunday

- tried to snuggle with toby, but he had to work
- grocery shopped at trader joes, whole foods, and kroger
- considered buying a dutch oven to make pumpkin puree
- decided against it
- considered buying a new flannel sheet set for the colder months
- decided against it
- had an assortment of dinner items toby picked up after his work meeting
- fell asleep watching tv and toby doing schoolwork

Waiting around for Toby to get home from his first night of Graduate classes. I'm so excited/nervous/proud of him! I ended up calling in to work yesterday, so I made a trip to Ann Arbor and got him a card and filled it with words of encouragement. I can tell he is very apprehensive about it and I thought it might help with the jitters to know that I'm here rooting for him. Gosh I love that boy!

It's my friend Jessie's wedding this weekend. I am excited excited excited! So many people from all over the world. Can't wait!

Okay this post has officially done it!

Yaaaay it's almost Fall!

Changes

I have never not wanted to go back to work so badly. I'm trying to keep myself motivated because the money is too good to leave, but is it worth being so miserable? Toby is in support of me quitting and finding something else, but I'm scared to quit without having anything lined up. I'm already relying heavily on the folks and I feel more and more guilty about that by the day.

On top of all of that, Summer is winding down. I'm going to miss you.

Heyo September!

I love Michigan in September!

Toby and I went for a walk last night to look at a house for sale in a somewhat hipper neighborhood. We aren't by any means financially secure to buy said house, but it's fun to daydream. I've hardly put down my Better Homes & Gardens magazine since returning. The house is also just a couple blocks from our favorite Ypsilanti brewery, so we stopped in and treated ourselves to a couple pints for happy hour. It was the perfect night for sitting close in the beer garden and have a good conversation. I don't think I have ever been so excited about my life!

Where Did August Go?

It is sooo cold and it's August 28th! What is the deal? I'm excited for Autumn and everything, especially the idea of wearing tights and boots again, but I still want my August to feel August-y! But here I am wrapped up in a quilt wearing my favorite golden yellow cardigan watching Toby make chili and sorta wishing for a cup of hot cocoa. Homemade hot cocoa that is . . . I'm still looking for that perfect cup like my Mum used to make for me.

Also I hate my job. I would rather be exploring.
